Gomashio ~ (Japanese Sesame Salt)

Japan’s famous low-sodium, flavorful and umami-rich seasoning blend that is as versatile as it is delicious! Toasted sesame seeds are ground and tossed with sea salt to create a unique blend that you’ll be glad to reach for at the dinner table!

 

Ingredients


  • 1 cup sesame seeds

  • ¼ cup dulse flakes

  • 1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt


Method

  1. Toast sesame seeds in a pan until they start to pop, continue to stir to avoid burning 2 mins

  2. Grind toasted sesame seeds, dulse flakes and salt in a mortar pestle until just combined

  3. Store in an airtight container in the fridge and use as a seasoning on vegetable and salads

  4. Beautiful nutty flavour, a great way to add some extra iodine and calcium to your meal.
